OVERVIEW
Cresswell Templeton III (“Cress”) is a nationally recognized trial attorney who brings decades of experience and practical judgment to significant, high-exposure matters throughout the country.
Cress’ focus during his career has been primarily on business, real estate, and intellectual property disputes, although his clients often also call upon him to draft and review transactional documents for them in his areas of specialization. His approach begins with meaningful client communication—listening carefully, understanding the legal, business, and personal considerations underlying a dispute, and working with clients to define what success looks like. That understanding drives strategy: what is worth fighting over, which risks make sense, and how to achieve the client’s goals efficiently.
Cress combines his seasoned judgment and depth of experience with the careful use of secure AI tools to make legal research and document analysis faster and more comprehensive and cost-effective. Technology does not replace the lawyer; it allows experienced lawyers to focus on what matters most: strategy, judgment, advocacy, and high-level client communication—precisely the attributes Cress provides to his many clients.
Cress’ current and/or recent matters include:
- Defending a $500 million investment company against a multi-million dollar breach of contract claim arising from a business investment and multinational credit facilities;
- Pursuing fraud and breach of contracts in seven figure real estate transaction involving multi-family building with a combined value of over $25 million;
- Defending a limited liability company against a high exposure breach of fiduciary duty and other claims;
- Successfully defending a large multimedia company against unfair and unlawful business practice claims arising from advertising on California tour buses;
- Successfully defending a large title company’s insured in a multi-million dollar, multi-jurisdictional real estate dispute in federal and state trial courts; and
- Successfully defending a real estate developer in a multi-million dollar construction dispute.
Cress is a member of Litigation Counsel of America, a peer-selected honorary society of 3,500 leading U.S. trial lawyers. He was recently recognized by the Los Angeles Business Journal as one of California’s top trial lawyers and as a leader of influence in California.
