OVERVIEW

Michael S. Turner litigates and brings to trial a range of employment cases in his representation of employers in state and federal courts and in arbitration.

He has defended employers against the spectrum of employment-related claims: wrongful termination, unlawful discrimination, harassment, retaliation, breach of contract, labor code violations, defamation, unfair business practices, whistleblower claims and wage and hour claims.

As part of Michael’s counsel to employers, he represents them before several administrative agencies, including:

• Equal Employment Opportunity Commission
• California Fair Employment and Housing Department
• U.S. Department of Labor
• California Labor Commissioner
• California Department of Labor Standards Enforcement
• Cal OSHA

Michael has also handled grievance arbitrations under collective bargaining agreements and has obtained injunctive relief in labor disputes. Counseling employers on labor and employment matters to avoid litigation is also part of his practice.

An alumnus of University of California at Los Angeles and Loyola Law School, he was an editor of the Loyola Law Review and received the American Jurisprudence Award for Trial Advocacy. He served as a judicial extern to the Honorable William D. Keller, District Judge for the U.S. District Court, Central District of California. Michael is a member of the litigation and Labor and Employment sections of the American Bar Association and Los Angeles County Bar Association.
