Of Counsel

Michael K. Collins

OVERVIEW

Civil trial lawyer Michael Keith Collins focuses on disputes involving real property, partnerships and sales. A veteran of more than 100 trials, he is experienced in a broad range of business litigation matters, legal malpractice defense, and anti-SLAPP motions. Mike is also an accomplished appellate lawyer.

He has personally briefed and argued over 90 appeals and extraordinary writ cases. These include four Supreme Court of California decisions and 17 officially published appellate opinions that created new law or clarified existing law.

Mike is a hands-on lawyer who answers his own phone, returns emails immediately, and prefers to do most of the work on cases himself. He limits his practice to cases he finds interesting, representing clients who deserve respect.

His pre-law education included a year of graduate work in physical chemistry, during which he shared an apartment with a law student and learned that property and torts are more interesting than quantum mechanics.

While earning his law degree at the School of Law at Washington University in St. Louis, Mike was editor-in-chief of the law review and a member of Order of the Coif. He joined Hill Farrer & Burrill more than 20 years ago after many years as a partner at Greenberg Glusker. Michael is a long-time member and former president of Wilshire County Club.
